Title I, Part A, Parental Involvement Program affords parents meaningful opportunities to participate in their children's education. Each Title I campus must use at least one percent of its allocation to build capacity for effective parental involvement, which includes training parents how to work with their children to improve academically and training to improve their own literacy and parenting skills.

- Parent Meetings/Trainings are held the first Friday of every month in the Multi-Purpose Room.
- Parent Orientation: August 10, 12 and 21

- The Texas Education Agency (TEA) has developed a Texas NCLB Report Card to share academic information with parents and community members about the State of Texas, the Houston Independent School District (HISD), and individual campuses. HISD's report in available for viewing in the MLK library.
- Parent Surveys: We value your opinion. Please complete the HISD Title I, Part A Parental Involvement Survey for the 2011-2012 school year. We will send home a survey in April, please make sure you complete and return it to your child's teacher or the front office.
